Introducing the four founders driving innovation in Ethiopia's mobility sector.
Kabba Team
February 20, 2025
Great companies are built by great teams. Kabba Transport is no exception. Our story began in 2021, when four friends came together with a shared vision: transform how Ethiopia moves.
The Founding Team
Blen Hailu — CEO & Co-Founder
A master's degree holder in Developmental Economics and former banking professional with over 10 years of experience. Mother of three. Visionary leader who identifies problems and creates solutions.
"To fundamentally change how people in Ethiopia, and eventually other regions, view and use public transportation."
Nahom E. Mekonen — Co-Founder
The business mind behind the operation. Focused on B2B sales, corporate partnerships, and growth strategy. Drives Kabba's expansion into employee ridesharing and corporate client acquisition.
"Two years ago, Kabba was just an idea. Fast forward to today, 400,000+ trips completed and we've barely scratched the surface."
Sosh Furi — Co-Founder & CTO
The technology architect. Also CEO of Vintage Technologies, bringing 7+ years of software development expertise. Built Kabba's entire technology platform from scratch—the apps, real-time tracking, and AI-driven routing.
Leul Hailu — Co-Founder
Blen's younger brother. Entrepreneur and social problem solver. Passionate about transportation innovation. Handles strategic planning and business development support.
